Standard Bank is offering 2014 learnership opportunities to provide unemployed matriculants and graduates in South Africa an opportunity to gain employment experience in the financial services industry and give the youth exposure to various entry level roles within Standard Bank.

Qualifying Criteria

The candidate must:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 30
  • Be able to speak, read and write English
  • Be computer literate
  • Not be permanently employed
  • Not be studying at any other institution
  • Not be registered on any other learnership

Candidates will be required to complete relevant assessments

Available Learnerships Opportunities:

1. Financial Consultancy Learnership

Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Financial Planning as well as to apply the necessary practical aspects of their learnings. Successful candidates will be required to sign a 12-month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. They will not paid a salary but will receive a learner allowance of R 12,000.00 per month for the duration of the learnership

2. Test Analyst Learnership

Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal banking qualification at an NQF Level 4, as well as, receiving Role Based Test Analyst Training. Programme participants will receive an allowance instead of a salary. Learners receive an allowance of R5 000 per month (taxed as per SARS tax tables)

3. Administration Learnership

Successful candidates will be required to sign a 12-month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. They will not be paid a salary but will receive a learner allowance of R3000.00 per month for the duration of the learnership. Upon successful completion candidates will obtain a recognised Further Education and Training Certificate in Banking (NQF 4)

4. Process Analyst Learnership

Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Sustainable Business Modelling and a qualification in Banking. Programme participants will receive an allowance instead of a salary. Learners receive an allowance of R12 000 per month (taxed as per SARS tax tables)

5. Data Warehousing Learnership

Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal banking qualification at an NQF Level 4, as well as, receiving Role Based Data Warehousing Training. Programme participants will receive an allowance instead of a salary. Learners receive an allowance of R5 000 per month (taxed as per SARS tax tables)

6. SAP Banking Specialist Learnership

Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Sustainable Business Modelling, a qualification in Banking as well as exposure to SAP. Programme participants will receive an allowance instead of a salary. Learners receive an allowance of R12 000 per month (taxed as per SARS tax tables)

7. Credit Manager Learnership *

Successful candidates will be required to sign a 12-month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. They will not paid a salary but will receive a learner allowance of R 12,000.00 per month for the duration of the learnership. Upon successful completion candidates will obtain a recognised National Certificate in Banking – Credit and Risk Assessment.

8. Customer Contact Center Learnership **

Successful candidates will be required to sign a 12-month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. They will not paid a salary but will receive a learner allowance of R 12,000.00 per month for the duration of the learnership. Upon successful completion candidates will obtain a recognised National Certificate in Banking – Credit and Risk Assessment.

9. CIB Operations Learnership **

Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Banking as well as apply the necessary practical aspects of their learning’s. This means that at the end of the 12 month programme, learners will receive a National Certificate in Banking (NQF 5). Successful candidates will be required to sign a fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. They will not be paid a salary but will receive a learner allowance of R3 500 per month
